We all dislike moving, the packing, the boxes and the stress, but good news comes for us who are moving. There is a new van on the market that will take our moving blues away. The new 2016 Mercedes Benz Sprinter.

Moving Day

Moving takes time and energy, and normally we try and save money by borrowing a friend’s old van or truck, but those vehicles are gas-guzzlers. Also, we can’t fit all our stuff into one load, so we end up doing 2 or more loads to finish our move. The nightmare of moving gets more complicated and the chance of losing something is much greater. Wouldn’t be wonderful to own a multi-purpose van that allows us to move all stuff in one load and be useful for day-day living? Well, happily there is! Our favourite German car manufacturer, has developed such a van, it’s called the Mercedes Benz Sprinter.

What Makes the Sprinter Van Extraordinary?

Let’s get to the meat of this Sprinter Van, it can hold a whopping 12 passengers or the weight of 2,763 pounds. An Austin Mini weighs about 2,000 pounds; just to give you an idea how much power this Sprinter van has. So we can get a lot of stuff into our Mercedes Benz Sprinter van. Do you want to know the best part? It comes with 4 rows of seats to carry our very large family around or our friends. The rows of seats are easily removed for when we need to transport something or the big moving day. How much space does it have? It has 68.6 cubic ft. and the tall roof version can fit 80.8 cubic ft. in it. A normal sized man or woman could actually stand up in the van, without hutching over, pretty amazing. Imagine sliding your king-size bed into there and still not touching the roof. Do you know that the Mercedes Benz Sprinter can actually haul 5,500 pounds behind it in a U-Haul? This is one powerful vehicle.

Luxury vs. Versatility

I know you are probably thinking a Mercedes Benz is a high-end luxury vehicle not a high-powered van for moving or transporting things or passengers. For years in Europe, Mercedes Benz has a line-up of cargo or passenger vans such as the Mercedes Benz Sprinter, but just recently has entered the North American market. The Mercedes Benz Sprinter has all the excellent power under the hood as expected with any Mercedes Benz, but the interior of the van, is simpler. You won’t find leather seats, wood and chrome finishing in this van. It is a class above the other cargo vans in its market, having good quality hard plastics and the simple design of the controls and radio, may look dated but it is easy to use and functions well. The Mercedes Benz Sprinter is a durable van made for all types of cargo and provides the versatility to be used as a passenger van, such as an airport hotel shuttle bus.

How’s it ride?

It’s got alot of power under that hood. There are two turbo-charged diesel options on the market: 1) 166-horsepower, 2.1 liter 4 cylinder providing 266 pound-feet of torque. 2) 188-horse-power, 3.0 liter V6 providing 325 pound-feet of torque. That’s a lot of horsepower. Depending on what you are looking for, in size or horsepower the Mercedes Benz Sprinter is the van for you on moving day. The smaller version offers 4 wheel drive and features more ground clearance for bumpy roads or travelling in winter weather.  The ride of the Sprinter van is smooth and is manageable due to the extra power from the motor, providing a gutsy performance. It is a high quality and fully capable cargo van, which will meet all your expectations and more.

The Mercedes Benz Sprinter van will make moving enjoyable again and you will find yourself looking for excuses to transport whatever you can get your hands on.
